VHDE Launches Free Cultural Education Programme for Schools

Starting this September, the ensemble will visit 12 schools across the Volta Region with free drumming demonstrations, dance workshops, and cultural storytelling sessions.
The Volta Heritage Dance Ensemble is proud to announce the launch of its Cultural Education Outreach Programme, a free initiative that will bring authentic Ewe cultural education directly to 12 schools across the Volta Region starting September 2026.
Each school visit will include a 90-minute session covering traditional drumming demonstrations, age-appropriate dance participation, Ewe proverb storytelling, and an introduction to the symbolism embedded in Ewe Kente cloth.
The programme is funded in part by the Ghana Tourism Authority and the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, and is aligned with the National Cultural Policy's goal of strengthening cultural identity among Ghanaian youth.
